北京時間6月5日 ，巴黎外媒talkSPORT和英媒《電訊報》爆料 ，有意邀穆巴黎正在考慮聘請穆裏尼奧出任球隊主帥 。尼留罗據悉 ，奥担波切蒂諾將很快從巴黎下課，任主巴黎盼穆裏尼奧的帅名到來會給管理層帶來更加強硬的優勢 。
電訊報指出 ，巴黎坎波斯可能不會在名義上出任巴黎總監 ，有意邀穆但他將推動巴黎這一項目 ，尼留罗首先要做的奥担就是物色球隊主帥人選 。執教皇馬期間 ，任主穆裏尼奧與坎波斯的帅名合作非常密切，兩人場下還是巴黎很好的朋友。穆裏尼奧執教曼聯期間曾推薦坎波斯擔任俱樂部總監 。有意邀穆
據悉 ，尼留罗穆裏尼奧是否有興趣接手巴黎以及巴黎是否最終會選擇他還有待觀察 。但穆裏尼奧肯定清楚 ，他在巴黎奪得歐冠的機會比他留在羅馬要大得多。如果接手巴黎 ，他將有機會通過接管另一家精英俱樂部來證明他的批評者是錯誤的 。
此後 ，兩位名記斯基拉和迪馬濟奧則紛紛表示 ，穆裏尼奧和他的經紀人門德斯在近幾個月確實收到了多份邀約 ，但他隻專注於在羅馬的計劃 。穆裏尼奧下賽季100%繼續執教羅馬 。
59歲的穆裏尼奧已執教羅馬一個賽季 ，55場29勝12平14負 ，率隊奪得首屆歐會杯冠軍 ，意甲排名第6 。他與羅馬的合同還有兩年到期 ，此前在歐會杯決賽賽後穆裏尼奧曾表示自己下賽季會留在羅馬。
