4月18日下午 ，京媒互聯網上突然曬出了一份“2022東亞杯男 、网传女足賽事初版賽程”。东亚调整而北京青年報記者獲悉 ，杯赛本這份“賽程”是程版按照“比賽在中國舉辦”的原計劃而設計的 。由於中國足協受疫情影響無法承辦本屆賽事 ，实比赛已赛程因此比賽大概率將改在日本進行 。易地比賽對陣次序及具體日程安排也很可能麵臨新的京媒調整 。
按照“輪辦原則” ，网传2022年東亞杯國際足球邀請賽男、东亚调整女足比賽本應由中國足協承辦。杯赛本不過受疫情影響 ，程版中國足協此前已經通知東亞足聯 ，实比赛已赛程無法承辦今年的易地比賽 。在這種情況下 ，京媒比賽不得不易地進行 。從目前情況看 ，日本接辦本屆賽事的可能性最大。
按照當初設計的賽程 ，中國男足將分別於7月20日 、23日 、27日先後對陣韓國隊、中國香港隊 、日本隊；中國女足將先後於7月20日 、24日 、26日迎戰中國台北女足 、韓國女足 、日本女足 。
不過 ，隨著比賽易地，比賽的具體日程安排也會相應調整 。按照慣例，東道主足協往往會將有本協會代表隊參加的比賽作為“壓軸戲”安排在最後1個比賽日 。舉例來說 ，如果比賽安排在日本進行 ，那麽日本足協大概率將利用東道主優勢，將韓 、日男足之間的比賽安排在最後1個比賽日 。截止到4月18日 ，東亞足聯官網並沒有顯示賽事的最終日程安排 。
