如果中日兩國都派出年輕球員出戰的足协話 ，那麽對於韓國國家隊來說 ，人士若中日很難將其視為考察國內球員的試驗場 ，所以，目前韓國國內也有聲音認為應該派出U23球隊出戰。
如果韓國也派出U23國足參加東亞杯，將有助於解決K聯賽擁擠的賽程 。為此 ，韓國職業聯盟不斷要求韓國足協派遣U23國足參加今年的東亞杯 。在亞冠小組賽和杭州亞運會交織的情況下，如果派年輕球員參加東亞杯 ，就能獲得一定的空閑時間 。足協官員解釋說 ：“我們認為 ，U23國足參加東亞杯是可取的 。”
