本周二 ，最低处罚歐足聯確認對阿瑙托維奇涉嫌辱罵北馬其頓球員一事進行調查 ，阿瑙周三歐足聯就宣布了調查結果：阿瑙托維奇被禁賽一場 。奇接奧地利的受奥诉《標準報》認為 ，歐足聯的地利決定 ，顯然是足协基於阿瑙托維奇情緒激動並侮辱對手的情況 ，而不是不上“種族歧視” ，否則阿瑙托維奇可能這次歐洲杯之旅就提前結束了 。最低处罚
《標準報》認為 ，阿瑙這已經是奇接歐足聯對這種行為的“最低處罰”了，奧地利足協不會就此提出上訴。受奥诉奧地利足協方麵表示 ：“我們接受這一決定 。地利”這意味著阿瑙托維奇將缺席對荷蘭的足协比賽，隻能在下周一對陣烏克蘭的不上比賽中才能出場 。當然，最低处罚奧地利足協主席溫特納也對歐足聯的決定有不滿之處 ：“很難理解這起事件中真正的挑釁者阿利奧斯基沒受到任何處罰 ，隻有我們的球員被禁賽了 。”
阿瑙托維奇在社交網絡上向阿利奧斯基表示了歉意 ，並表示盡管雙方都有令人遺憾的言論 ，但這也不應成為自己說“垃圾話”的借口 。來自瑞士 、葡萄牙和捷克方麵的歐足聯法官顯然未將阿瑙托維奇的行為視為“種族主義” ，否則最低處罰將是禁賽10場 ，那幾乎宣布阿瑙托維奇的國家隊生涯已經結束了 。
奧地利主帥福達為阿瑙托維奇辯護說：“他是一名好球員，他承認了自己的錯誤並公開道歉 。現在我們的全部注意力都集中在對荷蘭的比賽上。”荷蘭主帥德波爾也談到了阿瑙托維奇 ：“我很了解阿瑙托維奇 ，奧地利會想念他的 ，對我們來說 ，這當然是一個利好 ，顯而易見 。對北馬其頓的比賽中他替補出場就立刻發揮了作用。”
