北京時間8月25日 ，英超據英超官網報道 ，官方归路英超方麵正式表態 ，阻断各隊一致決定不放球員在下個月的名国國家隊比賽日赴紅名單國家參賽 ，官方表示支持這一決議。红名
這一決定將適用於19家英超俱樂部多達60名上下的单国球員 ，他們本應在9月份的放行國家隊比賽日裏分別前往26個紅名單國家 。
如果從那裏返回 ，英超按照英國當前的官方归路防疫規定 ，這些球員將要接受為期10天的阻断隔離 ，還將缺席2輪英超 ，名国1輪歐戰以及1輪足總杯的红名比賽 ，代價太過沉重，单国而且球員的放行健康與狀態很難得以保障 。
英超方麵聲稱 ：“為國出征永遠值得自豪，英超但是在當前的大環境下 ，放球員參加紅名單國家的國家隊賽事是完全不合理的 ，隔離意味著球員的身心也將受到重大影響 。”
對於FIFA將9月和10月的南美區國家隊比賽日周期從9天延長到11天，英超俱樂部方麵也表達了充分的不滿 ，他們認為這會給球員帶來額外的義務 ，從而損害了他們代表俱樂部的利益 。
本次會議將敦促FIFA與相關利益方合作探討 ，希望能夠形成達成一致的結論 。
