“無論我去了哪裏 ，道拉但真的想足球仍然是塔否足球 ，足球不會改變 ，尽力我也不會改變 。留下隻要巴薩要我 ，梅西我就不會離開 ，不知波但種種原因下我不得不離開 。道拉但真的想既然走到了這一步，塔否再說什麽都會顯得無力 ，尽力我隻能盡量適應 。留下”梅西談到自己的梅西心情 ，“我這幾天當然很難過很傷心 ，不知波我也在慢慢吸收這一巨變。道拉但真的想說實話 ，我還沒有完全接受這一切，這幾天家人一直陪伴著我 。我沒怎麽關注網友和球迷 ，我還是想要安靜地消化一下。盡管我離開了巴薩 ，但巴薩仍然會是我一生中最愛、付出最多的俱樂部 。雖然我一直希望留下 ，但現在也沒有別的辦法了 。”
對於續約失敗 ，梅西有話要說 ：“拉波爾塔原本告訴我一切都解決了，但最後時刻他卻告訴我 ，西甲聯盟沒通過 。我不知道他是否盡可能來完成續約 ，但我知道我想要留下來 。去年我不想 ，但今年想要留下來 ，這就是我的想法 。一切都無法挽回 ，一切都結束了 。我很難過 ，因為我沒想到要被迫離開 。巴薩高於所有球員 ，還會有其他偉大球員加盟的。”
