相對於青訓人才井噴，這點出售和租借是遠遠不夠的 ，為了保持競爭力 ，圖赫爾也沒辦法給球員更好的成長環境 ，比如加拉格爾就已經有了去意。
年僅22歲的加拉格爾已經連續4次入選英格蘭國家隊 ，這是一個了不起的成就 。上賽季球員被租借到英超對手水晶宮 ，在34場聯賽打進8球創造3次助攻 ，防守端場均貢獻1.9次搶斷 、0.7次攔截和0.6次解圍 ，數據非常出色 ，德轉預估身價也隨之暴漲1000萬，達到2500萬歐元 。

上賽季加拉格爾在水晶宮踢和芒特一樣的位置 ，加上哈弗茨 、齊耶赫和普利西奇等人 ，切爾西前場人滿為患 ，年輕的加拉格爾顯然無法在斯坦福橋獲得一席之地 。
如果他繼續留下隻能位置往後移 ，回到水晶宮對球員來說是一個不錯的選擇 ，不過2700萬英鎊顯然不符合加拉格爾的未來成長預期 ，預計水晶宮也是看到球員在切爾西過得不開心 ，夏窗壓哨報價抄底 。
