韓國媒體《sportsseoul》報道稱 ，借泰蔚山現代新賽季的昂纳目標是奪得K聯賽冠軍 ，為此在經過幾次失敗的人愿引援後 ，終於接近招募到巴西前鋒萊昂納多 。离队萊昂納多曾效力日本J聯賽與中超聯賽 ，曝蔚目前是山现山外山東泰山的球員，韓國國腳孫準浩也在泰山隊效力 。代有多球
一位知情人士向該媒體透露 ：“蔚山現代幾乎就租借萊昂納多與山東泰山達成了協議 ，意租援莱员本球員本人也下決心在蔚山現代迎接新的借泰挑戰 。”
從上賽季末 ，昂纳蔚山現代就開始尋找新的人愿外援前鋒 ，在失去射手王儒尼奧爾（加盟長春亞泰）後 ，沒有人能夠頂替他留下的空缺。在洪明甫上任主帥後 ，球隊簽下了德甲前鋒盧卡斯·辛特塞爾 ，不過僅僅6個月之後 ，就因為無法適應球隊而分手，球隊隻能依靠吳世勳等韓國本土球員打完下半賽季 。
為此 ，蔚山現代早早就派球探赴歐洲尋找目標，最開始他們接觸了一名德甲頂級前鋒 ，不過最終談判告吹 。之後他們又聯係到了前中超外援摩拉斯 ，摩拉斯也願意降薪加盟蔚山，不過由於雙方俱樂部之間沒有談攏 ，轉會作罷 。
此次蔚山現代又把目光鎖定在了萊昂納多身上 ，萊昂納多身高180厘米 ，體重70公斤 ，出道於巴西桑托斯足球俱樂部 。2018年初 ，萊昂納多來到亞洲 ，加盟日本J3聯賽球隊鳥取飛翔 ，在為球隊效力的33場比賽中，萊昂納多收獲24粒進球和10次助攻 ，憑借高效的表現獲得J3聯賽最佳射手。次年 ，他轉會日本J2聯賽球隊新瀉天鵝，全賽季出場38場比賽打進28球並有6次助攻 ，榮膺J2聯賽金靴 。2020年轉會日本J聯賽浦和紅鑽 ，代表球隊出戰30場 ，進球13粒同時貢獻4次助攻 。
在日本證明自己的萊昂納多被泰山隊挖走，不過在中超他並不成功 ，代表泰山隊的8場比賽僅攻入一球 ，隨後他也被租借到了河北隊 。目前回到山東泰山隊的萊昂納多處境很微妙 ，他本人希望返回J聯賽或者加盟亞洲其他聯賽，盡管他在中超表現不佳 ，但蔚山隊內卻對他有不錯的評價。（DD）
