但以巴薩目前的財政狀況，要為姆巴佩開出這一報價簡直是癡人說夢 。盡管進行了大規模的隊內降薪並清除冗員 ，但巴薩仍然沒有薪資空間來簽下梅西 。在這種情況下，巴薩又如何為姆巴佩開出高薪和高額簽字費 ？更何況姆巴佩有著兒皇夢，以皇馬目前陣容配置 ，姆巴佩加盟後就是金球熱門 ，這是重建期的巴薩所無法提供給他的 。
相比姆巴佩，巴薩倒不如去追求哈蘭德 ，畢竟挪威人並不算是兒皇夢類型 。哈蘭德明夏7500萬歐元違約金條款將會生效 ，但他索要3600萬歐元稅後年薪 。巴薩咬咬牙能掏出違約金 ，但幾乎不可能滿足哈蘭德的年薪要求 。
