皇家馬德裏和拉莫斯的曝拉續約工作已經成為了一幕肥皂劇 ，雖然雙方都有續約意向 ，续约陷入但遲遲沒有簽字。再次如今皇馬隊長的停滞谈續約工作再次停滯不前 ，而俱樂部給出的皇马后再答案是賽季結束後再說 。
此前拉莫斯在合同年薪和降薪問題上和弗洛倫蒂諾有分歧 ，赛季但近期雙方都做出了讓步 ，结束皇馬願意為拉莫斯開出一份“1+1”的曝拉合同 ，打破老將1年1續約的续约陷入傳統。而拉莫斯接受下賽季降薪10%的再次決定，等到2022年則視俱樂部的停滞谈經濟情況可能會將薪水回歸到1200萬歐元的標準 。
當下拉莫斯的皇马后再續約工作已經影響到了俱樂部的內部氣氛，齊達內此前甚至都出麵斡旋雙方的赛季續約事宜 。如今皇馬考慮在賽季結束後再和拉莫斯探討簽約的结束問題 ，而皇馬隊長在得到了一個口頭協議後 ，曝拉未來專注於複出的工作以及帶領球隊在聯賽和歐冠比賽中取得更好的成績 。
去年年末西媒表示拉莫斯和皇馬會在新年後完成簽約 ，但等到1月則傳出了雙方續約工作出現分歧的聲音 ，甚至被宣布雙方續約工作破裂 ，西班牙電視6台多次表示拉莫斯會在合同到期後走人 。巴黎聖日耳曼、曼城甚至拜仁慕尼黑都考慮免費簽約拉莫斯 。
但隨後皇馬隊長接受了膝蓋手術 ，突然出現的傷病加上偏大的年齡使得很多俱樂部放棄了簽約拉莫斯的計劃，皇馬隊長沒有了選擇 ，再加上齊達內的介入 ，西媒在2月末宣稱皇馬重新開出了合同 ，雙方基本達成一致，續約工作可能很快有新的進展 ，隻不過現在雙方又要拖到夏天了。
近期拉莫斯即將複出 ，皇馬隊長已經開始了場外訓練 ，俱樂部內部的4K高清攝像機甚至能夠拍到拉莫斯訓練中呼吸的聲音 。如果一切順利 ，皇馬隊長可能會參加周末的聯賽同城德比，而齊達內則認為拉莫斯趕上對陣亞特蘭大的歐冠次回合比賽就可以 。
