在丹麥隊上一次四強之旅裏，强上他們最終拿下了歐洲杯冠軍，次夺在92年的童话夏天以一場童話式的黑馬之旅震驚世人 。
值得一提的丹麦是 ，1992年丹麥歐洲杯冠軍班底門將是时隔老舒梅切爾 ，而今年則是年再小舒梅切爾鎮守丹麥大門，（近）30年後的进欧如今，此番舒梅切爾父子也以“隔空”方式完成了童話的洲杯傳承。
事實上 ，强上自1992年奪冠後，丹麥此前在歐洲杯上也僅僅隻有1次小組出線（2004年） ，而在今年夏天 ，無論打進四強後最終結果如何，丹麥全隊的表現已經超出預期。
