莫德裏奇在離開熱刺後加盟了皇馬，名记魔笛也成為了皇馬歐冠三連冠的皇马絕對功臣 。而憑借著在2018年世界杯的接近近日即出色發揮以及在2018年俱樂部賽事的完美發揮 ，莫德裏奇還以皇馬球員的续约身份贏得了2018年的金球獎。
在2021-2022賽季開戰後 ，至年已經36歲的官宣莫德裏奇依舊是皇馬中場的第一選擇 ，在皇馬所踢了21場聯賽中 ，名记魔笛莫德裏奇首發出場14次 ，皇马雖然沒有進球但是接近近日即貢獻了4次助攻 。而在6場歐冠小組賽中，莫德裏奇首發出場5次 ，替補出場1次 ，貢獻了1次助攻 。
莫德裏奇與皇馬的合同在2022年夏天到期 ，而鑒於魔笛出色的的競技狀態，皇馬高層希望與36歲的莫德裏奇簽訂一份續約合同 ，而莫德裏奇也有意繼續留在皇馬 。西班牙電視六台的記者埃杜在自己的社交網絡媒體上爆料稱，皇馬已經非常接近與莫德裏奇續約到2023年 。
而西班牙媒體《MadridistaReal》也給出了類似的報道 ，但是這家媒體寫道 ：“合約還沒簽署！皇馬方麵認為續約可以完成，這也是球員方麵的意願 ，但是莫德裏奇還未簽字 。”
截止到目前為止 ，西班牙主流媒體《阿斯報》、《馬卡報》等都還沒有莫德裏奇將會續約皇馬的報道 。但是從莫德裏奇本賽季的出色發揮看 ，他留在戰艦繼續踢球的概率極高 。
