凱恩在今年夏天很想告別熱刺去追求冠軍榮譽 ，军红無論是障碍在歐洲杯前還是那之後 ，球員本人其實都清晰明確的前热表達出了自己的想法 ，而曼城被認為是刺主追逐他的領頭羊，藍月亮花了1億鎊來引進另外一名英格蘭前場球員格拉利什 ，帅凯但無論在那之前還是赴红之後 ，他們對於凱恩的军红追逐似乎也從未停止。
然而最終 ，障碍由於列維咬定報價不放鬆 ，前热而曼城竟不願在這場拉鋸戰中投入更多 ，刺主凱恩無奈宣布留隊搶占主動 ，帅凯熱刺的球迷們當然會選擇原諒他，因為這名28歲的英格蘭隊長代表熱刺的戰績是339場223球 ，在過去7個賽季裏，他的進球都突破了20大關 。雖然誠如凱恩所言 ，無論他個人還是熱刺 ，都在為沒有爭奪到冠軍榮譽而苦惱 。
熱刺前主帥舍伍德在接受采訪時 ，對凱恩的未來進行了一定程度的預測 ，舍伍德對天空體育表示 ：“對我來說 ，凱恩是一個現在或永遠的選擇題 。”
“在本賽季結束後 ，我們將會再去探尋這個問題的答案 ，我認為他會在熱刺至少再呆上一個完整的賽季 ，盡管他的表態僅僅隻是“這個夏天”” 。
“不得不提的一點是，比如曼城 ，在明年夏天 ，可能會為哈蘭德所傾倒 ，因為他隻需要花費俱樂部7000萬鎊，這樣也就等於變相堵死了凱恩加盟的路 。”
“我相信他並不會單純的為了離開而離開的 。他要離開，是因為他需要去一家他確認能夠贏得榮譽的俱樂部 。他是為了冠軍榮譽，這一點我們每個人都清楚 。”
“所以，選擇隻在曼城 、切爾西 、曼聯或利物浦之間 。不會是曼城 ，但也不會是切爾西了 ，因為藍軍已經簽下了盧卡庫。”
“我認為他未來的職業生涯隻有兩家俱樂部可選了 ，曼聯 ，或是利物浦 。反倒是C羅回歸曼聯不會對凱恩構成太大問題 ，因為他不會在老特拉福德呆上很長一段時間了 。”
