加納球員們猝不及防 ，眼睜睜看著阿勒維納在禁區左側大力低射破門 。在丟球後 ，加納球員們第一時間向主裁抗議 。但加蓬的進球雖有“道德汙點” ，卻不違規 ，主裁也無法依據規則取消這個進球 。
在主裁吹響終場哨後 ，幾名加納球員圍住主裁判抗議 ，潘特希爾因此被黃牌警告 。已經被換下的阿尤衝入場內 ，要找激情慶祝的加蓬教練組麻煩 。隨即雙方球員發生混戰，加納球員特特因為推到對方球員麵部 ，而直接被罰下 。
賽後，阿尤炮轟加蓬違反體育道德 ：“加蓬完全不尊重公平競賽的體育原則 。”
而加蓬主帥內維尤卻是口出“金句”回擊：“公平競賽（Fair Play）是個英語詞匯 ，我們法語裏沒這個詞 。在加納喋喋不休的教育我們何為公平競賽之前 ，他們也同樣有過很多次沒有體現公平競賽精神的行為 ！”
