在主裁吹響終場哨後 ，幾名加納球員圍住主裁判抗議 ，潘特希爾因此被黃牌警告。已經被換下的阿尤衝入場內 ，要找激情慶祝的加蓬教練組麻煩。隨即雙方球員發生混戰，加納球員特特因為推到對方球員麵部 ，而直接被罰下 。
賽後 ，阿尤炮轟加蓬違反體育道德 ：“加蓬完全不尊重公平競賽的體育原則 。”
而加蓬主帥內維尤卻是口出“金句”回擊：“公平競賽（Fair Play）是個英語詞匯 ，我們法語裏沒這個詞 。在加納喋喋不休的教育我們何為公平競賽之前 ，他們也同樣有過很多次沒有體現公平競賽精神的行為 ！”
