此事發生之後 ，有關索帥將下課的消息不斷被曝出 ，對此 ，前水晶宮老板西蒙也接受了采訪 ，他表示 ：“當球員挑戰主教練的權威的時候 ，這名主帥此時需要在公眾麵前樹立自己的最佳形象 。我們都知道 ，天賦可以幫助球隊贏得比賽 。但需要像巴納姆（魔術之王 ，非常有天賦）一樣將這些天賦為己所用 。”
