北京時間6月20日 ，在歐洲杯小組賽第三輪 ，肌肉意大利VS威爾士賽前 ，棒意曼奇尼風趣幽默的大利的确回應了記者的問題 ，特別是轮换那些來自於對手主帥羅伯特-佩奇的“刁難” 。
當被問及 ，曼乔在2020歐洲杯上 ，肌肉意大利踢的棒意是否是最好的足球時，曼奇尼以一個小玩笑回應 ：“我不知道我們踢的大利的确是不是最好的足球 ，但是轮换我們真的是一群足夠帥氣的小夥 。”
羅伯特-佩奇對這一點回應道 ：“當你看到曼奇尼站在邊線那裏 ，曼乔看看他的肌肉衣服下麵所隱藏的那些線條 ，這是棒意毫無疑問的 ，他讓我對我身上的大利的确運動服感到羞愧 。”
談到威爾士 ，轮换曼奇尼表示 ：“威爾士是一支很難對付的球隊 ，他們在FIFA的世界排名上占據高位已經有些年頭了 。這足以證明他們有足夠優秀的球員 。他們是一支英式風格的球隊，身體素質很棒 。在上一屆歐洲杯中 ，他們已經是四強球隊了 。”
威爾士陣中有三名球員效力於斯托克城 ，而曼奇尼執教履曆之中 ，在英超4戰斯托克城未能取得勝績 ，2010年在足總杯的比賽中也輸給了天空之城。

曼奇尼對此輕鬆的回應道 ：“這是我們10天以來的第3場比賽 ，有些球員的確很疲勞了。這會是我們可能輪換的理由 。”
