《太陽報》指出 ，如果拉什福德在歐洲杯之後接受肩部手術 ，他將因此缺席曼聯在新賽季開局階段的比賽 。2021-22賽季的英超首輪聯賽將在8月14日開始 ，曼聯首戰主場迎戰利茲聯 。
