在11月中旬的世界杯歐洲區預選賽中 ，威爾士將在主場連續迎戰白俄羅斯和比利時 。目前威爾士在E組積分榜上排名第三 ，仍有望獲得小組第二 。而貝爾此前已經代表威爾士隊出場99次 ，即將迎來自己的國家隊第100場比賽。
