在剛剛結束的一場英超強強對話中 ，客場作戰的知红切爾西1-1憾平利物浦 。比賽中 ，牌否破坏裏斯-詹姆斯門線上解圍時手球犯規送點並被紅牌罰下 ，符合當值主裁安東尼-泰勒的规则這一判罰引起了諸多爭議 。對此 ，裁判藍軍主帥圖赫爾在出席賽後新聞發布會時也發表了自己的比赛看法 。
針對比賽中的图赫這一爭議判罰 ，圖赫爾說到 ：“我無法確定這張紅牌是知红否符合規則 ，但你必須接受這個處罰決定 ，牌否破坏我認為裁判看到動圖之後也許會改變自己的符合看法 。”
圖赫爾進一步表示 ：“這張紅牌破壞了整場比賽 ，规则我到現在都沒有想到應對這種情況的裁判更好的辦法 。總之 ，比赛這次判罰破壞了比賽 。图赫我能理解這個判罰，並不是說判罰錯了。我隻是不喜歡裁判查看VAR的方式 ，不希望他隻是看了一張照片就判定這是紅牌 。如果單單看圖像 ，那的確是紅牌 ，因為圖片上清晰顯示了裏斯-詹姆斯手觸球的那個點 ，裁判由此認定裏斯-詹姆斯阻擋了絕對的進球機會 ，這沒有問題 。”
藍軍主帥繼續指出 ：“裏斯-詹姆斯確實是擋住了一個‘可能’的進球，但實際上卻也是皮球偏轉出現反彈後的結果 。我其實更希望裁判能夠長時間反複查看整個過程 ，我記得裁判解釋說 ，如果這是皮球偏轉出現反彈後的結果 ，那麽手臂阻擋的動作並非很不自然 ，那麽這就不應該是一個點球 。很多時候 ，有些決定對當下的影響真的很大 。”
