北京時間10月14日 ，武磊亞足聯官方公布了本周世預賽12強賽周最佳球員的入选候選名單 ，中國球員武磊依靠對陣越南隊的强赛絕殺入圍 ，在MVP的周最爭奪中PK孫興慜 、阿茲蒙等球星 。佳候
亞足聯官網對武磊的选名兴慜表現評價道 ：“經曆了慘淡的9月份後 ，中國隊迎來了一個更好的单孙10月份 ，武磊是阿兹中國隊複蘇的關鍵任務 。兩個進球 ，蒙列其中包括一個神奇的武磊補時階段第5分鍾的製勝進球 ，不僅成就了中國隊本月的入选最佳比賽，也為李鐵的强赛球隊帶來了新的生機 。”
另外其他幾名候選球員為 ：孫興慜（韓國）、周最薩拉赫-艾爾（阿曼）、佳候田中碧（日本） 、选名兴慜阿茲蒙（伊朗） 、阿伊丁-赫魯斯蒂奇（澳大利亞） 、穆罕默德（黎巴嫩） 、菲爾斯-阿爾比拉坎（沙特） 、赫裏賓（敘利亞） 、阮進靈（越南） 。
