8月27日是弗格C羅重返曼聯一周年的日子，2021年8月27日 ，森场杀當時C羅從尤文圖斯轉會 ，外绝望离重返曼聯 。过境紅魔為了得到這位遊子，迁渴付出了總價2300萬歐元的重返周年轉會費 ，其中包括1500萬歐基礎轉會費 。曼联C羅回到曼聯 ，弗格戲劇性十足 ，森场杀他在尤文不開心 ，外绝望离替補出戰一場比賽 ，过境隨後無限接近瓜迪奧拉執教的迁渴曼城 ，但是重返周年到弗格森介入之後，備戰葡萄牙隊比賽的C羅立刻轉投曼聯 ，弗格森實現了場外“絕殺”曼城 。
C羅回到曼聯的這一年 ，初期表現很好 ，曼聯的7號屬於C羅 ，卡瓦尼讓出號碼 ，英超特事特辦 。曼聯的球衣可以說賣瘋了 ，俱樂部的市值急速提升，可以說簽約C羅之後的曼聯場外賺大了 。C羅來到曼聯初期也表現出色 ，各條戰線連續取得進球 ，給人一種“國王回歸”的感覺。
但可惜C羅來到曼聯首個賽季後期表現不佳 ，球隊排名也很糟糕，索帥下課 。C羅在回到曼聯的第一個賽季交出了39場貢獻24球3助的數據 ，是隊內射手王 ，但可惜曼聯排名英超第六 ，還是驚險獲得了歐聯杯的資格 。
C羅重返曼聯一周年 ，如今的C羅在曼聯並不是鐵打的首發，甚至他首發的場次曼聯輸球，坐上板凳席，曼聯擊敗利物浦止住頹勢 ，確實很尷尬。C羅和新帥滕哈赫之間並不太來電 ，滕哈赫的鐵腕政策，讓C羅坐在板凳席上 。再加上無法參加歐冠，以及個人在曼聯的處境 ，所以現在的C羅非常渴望離開曼聯 。
C羅一年前來到曼聯的時候得到了一片歡呼聲 ，但可惜一年之後的C羅已經希望離開曼聯 ，而且隨著轉會窗口即將關閉 ，給C羅的時間也已經不多了 。現在的C羅運動能力下降，37歲的他過人很困難 ，賽場上的機動性也不強，所以被認為已經徹底走下巔峰 。再加上有傳聞中的C羅的存在，讓更衣室有隱患 ，他和很多隊友的關係都不是很好 ，所以現在的C羅也已經不是曼聯的非賣品 。
如今C羅的下家仍未確定 ，他為了追求歐冠的夢想 ，依舊希望離開 ，但也存在沒有合適的下家 ，繼續留隊的可能性 ，也希望接下來的C羅可以好運 。
