北京時間5月4日晚間 ，穆帅歐洲足壇曝出重磅消息 ，大任剛被熱刺解雇15天的提完善穆裏尼奧找到了新的教練工作 ，他會在下賽季執教意甲球隊羅馬 。高防而意大利媒體《意大利足球》也專門發文指出了穆帥執教羅馬必須要完成的守打三大任務 。
防守缺陷
豐塞卡執教的强队羅馬進攻比較出色 ，經常可以打出令人眼花繚亂的医疗進攻 ，而這種攻勢足球的体系華麗風格也吸引了球迷的極大讚譽 。但是穆帅一個不可否認的現實是 ，羅馬的大任防守卻存在巨大的缺陷 ，這也使得羅馬在最近的提完善兩個賽季以來都無法獲得歐冠資格 。上個賽季 ，高防羅馬在意甲38輪丟了51球，守打而本賽季雖然僅踢了34輪意甲 ，强队羅馬就丟掉54球 。医疗穆裏尼奧的戰術風格以強力的防守著稱，而如何補上羅馬的防守短板也是穆帥的重要任務 。
戰強敵能力
從羅馬的比賽看 ，這支球隊在對付中下遊球隊時頗有心得 ，但是在對戰頂級豪門的時候卻沒有任何亮點 。拿2019-2020賽季的意甲聯賽為例子 ，在那個賽季聯賽中對戰最後的前十球隊的8場比賽中 ，羅馬僅贏球一次 ，而唯一的那次贏球是擊敗了已經提前奪冠的尤文圖斯。而本賽季羅馬對戰意甲前八名球隊 ，至今為止踢了12場比賽6平6負未嚐勝績 。打強隊容易丟分的屬性也使得羅馬在本賽季的意甲落後 。
完善醫療體係
過去的幾個賽季，羅馬隊的訓練比較出色，但是對於球隊的醫療保障體係沒有足夠的重視。這也使得羅馬隊的傷病情況非常糟糕。在本賽季的歐聯杯半決賽首回合對戰曼聯的比賽中 ，比賽短短37分鍾後 ，斯皮納佐拉與維尼杜特就因為肌肉的問題下場 。
