昨天，袋鼠军团澳大利亞足協官方宣布 ，将回决正在征戰12強賽的本土澳大利亞隊將在下個月重新回到自己的主場——西悉尼體育場 ，11月11日“袋鼠軍團”將在本土迎戰同組對手沙特隊 。作战主场相比於對手 ，国足國足至今還未確定下個月主場的场地比賽地 。
由於疫情的仍悬原因 ，澳大利亞隊已有長達763天沒有在自己的袋鼠军团主場比賽了 ，上一次球隊在主場亮相還是将回决2019年10月的事情 。
澳足協首席執行官詹姆斯·約翰遜表示 ：“我們在所參加的本土卡塔爾世預賽前12場比賽裏，有11場是作战主场在海外舉行 ，但球隊克服了困難 ，国足取得了11勝1負的场地佳績。如今 ，仍悬很高興球隊能夠有機會回來在主場球迷麵前繼續世預賽之旅 ，袋鼠军团球隊在主場的戰績一向很好。”
澳大利亞隊主教練阿諾德認為 ，主場球迷的助威對於球隊非常重要 ，希望隊伍能夠發揮出水平 ，爭取早日進軍卡塔爾世界杯 。
目前 ，在12強賽B組爭奪中 ，四戰全勝的沙特隊以12分領跑，澳大利亞隊以9分居次席，阿曼和日本隊同積6分 ，中國隊積3分 ，越南隊墊底。
需要注意的是 ，11月16日澳大利亞隊將客場挑戰中國隊 ，但直到記者發稿時為止 ，國足仍未確定自己的主場比賽地。
按照亞足聯的規定，參加12強賽隊伍的主場比賽地 ，至少需要在開球前十天確定 ，而國足下一場與阿曼隊的主場比賽將在11月11日舉行 ，因此留給隊伍的時間已非常緊張 。
當然 ，國足對此已是做好了兩手準備 ，如果能夠在本土作戰最好 ，而如果還需要遠征西亞 ，那麽隊伍將在11月6日左右出發。目前 ，國足已確定將在11月初與浙江隊進行一場熱身賽 。
今年，國足曾在蘇州與關島隊進行了一場40強賽的比賽 ，那也是隊伍最後一次在本土亮相 ，隨後隊伍就被迫前往西亞，連續征戰40強賽和12強賽 。對於國足來說，遠離本土的滋味非常不好受 ，如果下個月國足還無法回歸主場 ，那對於球員心理的影響將是巨大的 。
據悉 ，中國足協的工作人員仍在全力爭取 ，希望能夠讓隊伍在本土作戰。
