受到疫情影響，中超賽區遲遲無法確定 ，联赛何時能夠開賽仍存在比較大的开赛變數 ，2日有媒體人爆料稱本年度中超聯賽將於5月27日正式開始 。时间赛区隨後搜狐體育了解到，确定确定目前三大賽區仍處於待定狀態 ，尽早中國足協和中足聯從工作開展的中超重中之重角度，設定了多個時間節點，联赛用於確定籌備進度，开赛但開賽時間和具體賽程 ，时间赛区都要等賽區確定之後才能夠決定 。确定确定
盡快確定賽區仍然是尽早目前聯賽籌備的首要任務 ，根據計劃 ，中超重中之重18支中超球隊將分入3大賽區 ，联赛每個賽區有6支球隊。开赛遼寧省大連市 、廣東省梅州市將承辦新賽季中超聯賽第一階段兩個賽區賽事 ，但還有一個賽區尚未完全敲定。山東日照很有希望承辦一個賽區的比賽，成為本賽季中超聯賽的第三個賽區 ，目前中足聯還在就具體籌備工作與日照方麵溝通 ，日照當地雖然對承辦賽事很有誠意 ，但最終結果還要等山東省方麵的批示 ，另外，山東當地的疫情發展，也是一個重要的決定因素 。
如果山東日照無法承辦 ，中超賽區還需要重新選址 ，中超聯賽開賽時間也將進一步推遲 ，甚至不排除出現一個城市承辦兩個賽區比賽的極端情況 。
此外 ，按照上海目前的疫情防控形勢，申花、海港能否順利如期參賽 ，存在不確定性。目前 ，申花將士依舊在康橋基地訓練 ，球隊目前已封閉集訓超過50天時間 ，球隊日常訓練和生活有保障 。海港隊一線隊員居家單獨進行訓練 。不過隨著上海開始逐步複工複產 ，海港全隊也已經進駐一家酒店開始恢複訓練 ，為即將開始的聯賽做準備。
相比於過去分組賽加上爭冠組和保級組的賽製，今年中國足協和中足聯一直是按照雙循環34輪比賽來製定賽製 ，考慮到今年國字號球隊可能還要出戰東亞杯和亞運會 ，再加上11月底要進行世界杯 ，因此實際上留給中超聯賽的賽程已經非常緊張 ，如果6月上旬中超還無法正式啟動，今年聯賽恐怕又將被迫縮短賽程 。（搜狐體育 裴力）
