如果采取保守治療的話，阿紮爾會等到徹底康複之後再複出 ，皇馬預計阿紮爾可以在1個月內重返球場 ，甚至大概率參加上歐冠8強戰 ，如果一切順利的話則可以趕上歐洲杯比賽。但比利時國家隊是寧願麵臨阿紮爾無緣歐洲杯的結果 ，也希望通過手術的方式徹底根治 。因為阿紮爾此前7年累計傷缺198天 ，在皇馬不到2年就缺席362天 ，少踢了51場比賽 ，在俱樂部長時間養傷甚至影響了阿紮爾在比利時國家隊的出勤率 。
如今阿紮爾是左右為難 ，但《阿斯報》指出 ，皇家馬德裏和比利時國家隊都會尊重阿紮爾的選擇 ，無論阿紮爾做出什麽樣的決定都會支持 ，因為全世界最了解阿紮爾健康情況的人就是他自己 。
