北京時間4月20日 ，歐洲足球俱樂部協會發布聲明，黎主提名魯梅尼格替代已宣布離職的席拒尤文主席阿涅利 ，成為協會新的绝接即主席 。
法國媒體報道稱 ，涅利在魯梅尼格之前，背刺事實上俱樂部協會原本想要提名的重演人選是巴黎主席納賽爾 ，後者原本就是投敌該協會的副主席人選 ，是曝巴阿涅利辭職後協會中最有威望與權力 ，最符合標準與條件的黎主任選 ，但是席拒根據《RMC》的說法，納賽爾對此表達了明確的绝接即拒絕。
《RMC》表示 ，涅利在“阿涅利背刺”事件發生後 ，背刺歐洲足球俱樂部協會本已經準備提名納賽爾成為繼任者 ，重演但是這並不在納賽爾本人的計劃之中 。巴黎主席第一時間告知了自己的同僚們 ，他願意繼續履行副主席職責 ，但是並不希望自己成為主席人選。
納賽爾表示 ，他願意繼續為建設歐洲足球體係做出努力和幫助 ，同時也會繼續擔任歐足聯執行委員會委員。但是，成為俱樂部協會的主席並不是他本人的想法和計劃之一 。
因為這則消息的出現 ，似乎更加坐實了巴黎也有可能臨陣倒戈加入歐超的可能性，此前根據媒體報道 ，歐超創始人席位虛設三席 ，留待拜仁 、多特和巴黎做出最終決議 ，而其他12家俱樂部願意留給巴黎考慮的時間，隻有兩周左右 。
