北京時間4月20日 ，針對加裏-內維爾對於利物浦與曼聯投入歐超懷抱後的内扯激烈措辭 ，紅軍主帥克洛普予以回擊 ，什永稱他“不配”聊《永不獨行》 。不独
克洛普談到 ：“加裏-內維爾對《永不獨行》發表了評論 ，行和系說老實話他應該被禁言才對。有关那是克洛屬於我們的歌 ，我們有權利去唱 ，内扯這一切和他毫無關係 ，什永他也不會懂得這首歌對於我們的不独意義。”
“我理解所有的行和系言論與情緒 ，我不喜歡談論這樣的有关事情，我更加不想去談論關於其他的克洛俱樂部 。你當然可以有自己的内扯情緒 ，但是什永我希望加裏-內維爾能夠站在一個責任足夠重大的位置上 ，而不是一個能得到金錢最多的地方，來發表他的看法 。他在曼聯也好 ，在天空體育也好 ，這些都和我們無關 ，我們現在的任務隻是把比賽踢好 。”
隨即 ，加裏-內維爾也對克洛普的回應再次做出反應 ，他辯護稱 ：“這些年我的確說了一些對利物浦並不友好的言論 ，但是我昨天的發言顯然並不是針對他們的 。我不清楚為什麽克洛普會這麽生氣 ，不知道是哪一點刺激到了他 。昨天的話題仍在足球的範疇之內，我隻是對曼聯和利物浦同時表達了失望 。”
“克洛普是一名好教練 ，我也很喜歡他的球隊 。在這件事情上 ，他也沒有辦法 ，這是俱樂部老板們的決定 。我們其實是站在同一邊的，我清楚他並不喜歡歐超這件事情。”
