7月1日下午 ，大年卡塔爾世界杯預選賽亞洲區12強賽抽簽在馬來西亞吉隆坡舉行。初国
中國男足作為第四檔球隊 ，足强战日和越南 、客战阿曼 、越南沙特 、腊月澳大利亞、廿客日本分在一組 。大年國足主帥李鐵隨後表示 ，初国“分組非常好 ，足强战日我們會竭盡全力打好每一場比賽 。客战”
A組：黎巴嫩 、越南敘利亞 、腊月伊拉克 、廿客阿聯酋 、大年韓國、伊朗
B組 ：越南 、阿曼 、中國 、沙特、澳大利亞 、日本12強賽完整賽程如下：
第一輪 ：9月2日 ，國足（客場）vs澳大利亞
第二輪：9月7日，國足（主場）vs日本
第三輪 ：10月7日 ，國足（主場）vs越南
第四輪 ：10月12日 ，國足（客場）vs沙特
第五輪：11月11日 ，國足（主場）vs阿曼
第六輪 ：11月16日 ，國足（主場）vs澳大利亞
第七輪：2022年1月27日，國足（客場）vs日本
第八輪 ：2022年2月1日，國足（客場）vs越南（大年初一）
第九輪 ：2022年3月24日，國足（主場）vs沙特
第十輪 ：2022年3月29日，國足（客場）vs阿曼
比賽按照主客場方式進行 ，12強賽每組前兩名將直接獲得世界杯參賽權 ，兩個小組第三直接交鋒 ，爭奪一張洲際附加賽門票 。
而從疫情防控角度來說 ，和日本 、澳大利亞 、沙特等隊一組 ，或許能避免40強賽因敘利亞 、馬爾代夫多人感染 ，國足被迫前往西亞中立場地比賽的窘境。

第三檔 ：沙特阿拉伯、阿聯酋
第四檔 ：伊拉克、中國
第五檔 ：阿曼 、敘利亞
