據了解 ，英裁研讨受邀參加此次研討會的法候裁判員分別來自亞足聯 、非洲足聯 ，马宁中北美及加勒比地區足聯以及大洋洲足聯。参加其中國際級裁判員25人 、世界身执國際級助理裁判員8人 、杯候國際級視頻助理裁判員7人。选精选名中國籍國際裁判員馬寧也名列其中 。英裁研讨這意味著，法候馬寧已經躋身卡塔爾世界杯執法裁判員候選陣容 ，马宁也非常有望最終參加本屆世界杯執法工作 。
北青-北京頭條記者獲悉 ，在完成本賽季亞冠聯賽西亞大區淘汰賽階段的執法任務後 ，馬寧及另外3名中國籍裁判員（國際級裁判員兼VAR裁判員傅明、國際級助理裁判員曹奕 、施翔）繼續駐留在卡塔爾多哈 。不出意外的話 ，他們接下來還將在11月的兩輪12強賽A組部分比賽中參與執法工作 。
應該說，中國籍國際級裁判員本賽季的國際賽事執法工作表現比較出色 。在此之前，上述4名裁判員及另外一名國際級裁判員張雷順利完成了12強賽及亞冠聯賽西亞大區多場賽事執法任務 。目前 ，張雷已經返回到國內 。
值得注意的是 ，雖然此次研討會被裁判界視為明年世界杯裁判選派工作的“風向標”，但受邀參加研討會的裁判員並不包括歐足聯會員協會的裁判員。而一直以來 ，歐足聯都是世界杯裁判員的第一輸送大戶 。因此 ，在遴選卡塔爾世界杯執法裁判員過程中 ，國際足聯還需要經過反複研究 、考核。而具體到亞足聯推薦的裁判員人選 ，也麵臨新一輪競爭 。除了馬寧之外 ，包括傅明在內的其他中國籍國際級裁判員亦有機會競爭世界杯執法資格 。
據了解 ，在男子裁判員研討會舉辦前 ，國際足聯還於本月23日至29日舉辦了女子精英裁判員研討會 ，其目的是為2023年女足世界杯執法工作做準備 。來自亞足聯 、非洲足聯，中北美及加勒比地區足聯的26名裁判員參與了此次研討會及培訓 ，其中並沒有中國籍裁判員 。
