12月5日晚 ，揭秘有消息顯示 ，国足中國足協近日向體育管理部門提交了中國男足新任領隊人選 ，新领选没該人選正是队人队管担任足協戰略規劃部部長 、國家男足防疫工作組組長戚軍 。有带雖然人選最終能否獲得批複有待有關方麵確認 ，理经历但不難看出 ，中超隨著球隊主帥人選易人，防疫负责領隊行將易人，揭秘球隊的国足管理運行模式亦有較大變更的可能性。
5日下午 ，新领选没從上海國足駐地方麵就傳出了國足領隊人選即將生變的队人队管担任信息 ，戚軍的有带名字從那時起已經和國足領隊崗位聯係了起來 。
了解中國足協內部情況的理经历人 ，對戚軍的中超個人情況都非常清楚 。11年前 ，也就是國內足壇貪腐醜聞爆出後，戚軍就作為體育管理部門特派幹部掛職到中國足協 。而至今為止 ，包括楊新利、曹景偉 、孫哲東在內 ，與戚軍同期掛職到足協的幹部均已離開足協 。可以說，戚軍也是目前中國足協在職人員中為數不多的具有體育管理部門幹部背景的成員之一 。
目前 ，戚軍作為中國足協國家男足工作組成員 ，團隊防疫工作組負責人已隨球隊征戰卡塔爾世預賽40強賽後半程 、12強賽前6輪比賽 。再往前 ，他還曾先後擔任近兩個賽季中超聯賽及女足奧預賽附加賽中國女足防疫工作組負責人 。
今年8月 ，中國足協正式決定由戚軍接替退休的足協元老朱和元出任協會戰略規劃部部長 。
在此之前 ，戚軍曾長期擔任足協競賽部部長 。直到去年5月，他才離開這一崗位。此外 ，戚軍亦當選過中國足協副秘書長 。由此看來 ，作為“老人兒”，戚軍成為中國足協推薦的國足領隊人選有一定道理。
不過，戚軍此前並沒有任何球隊帶隊管理經曆 ，能否勝任這個角色 ，也存疑問 。值得注意的是 ，熱衷體育運動特別是擅長鐵人三項及長跑的戚軍本人亦是一名活躍在社交平台上的網絡達人 。
截止到目前 ，中國足協主席陳戌源仍在上海接受自主觀察 ，他要到9日解除隔離後才能赴京與有關方麵溝通國足未來組隊事宜。那麽 ，從體育管理部門堅決起用李霄鵬的事實來看 ，由中國足協推薦的領隊人選能否獲得通過 ，很快便將有答案 。
