阿拉巴是曝皇拜仁的一位萬金油球員，除了可以踢邊後衛，马拜而且還可以勝任中衛以及中場等位置 ，互换他與拜仁的自由周内合同在今夏到期 ，由於在工資方麵無法與拜仁達成協議 ，身飞因此拜仁已經宣布不與阿拉巴續約 。完成阿拉巴可以在今夏自由身走人，曝皇雖然英超球隊對阿拉巴非常感興趣，马拜但是互换阿拉巴卻更希望到西甲踢球 。
巴斯克斯是皇馬的邊鋒 ，也可以勝任右後衛 ，雖然不是球隊的絕對主力 ，但是也是核心輪換球員之一 ，而他的合同在今夏到期 ，皇馬至今為止沒有與其簽訂續約合同 ，因此也可以在今夏自由身走人 。從兩人的實力對比看，阿拉巴顯然比巴斯克斯價值更高 ，但是鑒於都可以在今夏自由身走人，因此《馬卡報》的消息稱，兩人可能在今年夏天互換東家，這項簽約雖然並未被球員以及俱樂部公開 ，但是很有可能在未來幾個星期之內完成 。
為何球員與俱樂部都不想公開談論球員互換的問題呢？《馬卡報》分析認為，這是因為這幾方都不想因為此事攪亂轉會市場的正常秩序。而從雙方的特點與能力看 ，這次互換或許是一次雙贏交易。皇馬需要阿拉巴這樣在中場以及後衛線有能力的球員 ，而巴斯克斯則可以補強拜仁右路的陣容深度 。
