《朝鮮日報》報道稱 ，金钟12強賽第8輪的夫换爭奪日前結束 ，在越南美亭體育場 ，李铁中國男足1-3負於越南隊 。考虑即便中國隊戰勝越南，曝足小組出線的意聘概率也基本上沒有 ，不過正是请河因為本場比賽失利 ，中國隊已徹底無緣卡塔爾世界杯 。北队這也是主帅中國隊62年來首次輸給越南，在此前的金钟交手中 ，中國隊全部取得勝利 。
《朝鮮日報》稱 ，自從2010年開始，中國就一直在大力投資振興足球的計劃 ，然而這麽多年過去 ，出乎意料的是中國男足卻鮮有成績 ，在這屆12強賽中 ，他們可以說是小組裏麵表現最差的球隊，8場比賽僅贏了1場 。
文章表示 ，在中國國內 ，對於再次換帥的聲音此起彼伏 ，而已經換過一次主帥的中國隊 ，把目光轉向了河北隊主教練金鍾夫的身上。2日 ，一位足協官員告訴記者 ，其實在換帥之前，中國足協考慮過聘請金鍾夫的事情 ，但當時這個意向直到李霄鵬上任也沒有最終實現 ，不過金鍾夫已經被中國足協寄予了厚望 。
金鍾夫在去年接手了河北隊 ，打法穩定 ，即便是主力外援馬爾康轉會去了中甲 ，金鍾夫還是保住了河北隊的體係 。盡管球隊遭遇了經濟上的困難，但他們取得了超出預期的成績 ，成功殺入爭冠組的比賽 ，一位消息人士向記者透露 ：“雖然河北隊缺乏投資人的支持，但是金鍾夫卻因為執教能力受到了俱樂部和球迷的稱讚 。”（DD）
