敘利亞足協5月12日公布了敘利亞隊備戰世預賽40強賽的叙利35人球員大名單 。隨後敘足協國家隊管理部主任阿斯蘭·坎約又公布了球隊備戰40強賽的亚队意义方案細節 。在飛赴中國前 ，华前球隊將不再參加任何熱身賽 ，不再不齐比赛其本期備戰將分為3個階段 ，热身人包括赴迪拜 、安排多哈的叙利兩段海外集訓 。
坎約稱 ，亚队意义敘利亞隊主帥馬魯爾按計劃於本月15日啟程離開突尼斯 ，华前前往敘利亞大馬士革 。不再不齐比赛從16日開始 ，热身人敘利亞隊將啟動第一階段集訓 ，安排但前期集訓人員不可能到齊 。叙利對此坎約說 ，亚队意义“這是华前因為本期集訓征調了14名海外俱樂部球員，包括在歐洲以及西亞各國聯賽中踢球的球員 。參加首階段國內集訓的也就隻有七八名球員 ，因為效力於10月隊及瓦赫達隊的球員將先跟隨俱樂部參加亞足聯杯賽 。比賽結束後 ，他們才會到國家隊 。”
根據安排 ，敘利亞隊定於5月20日啟程出發前往迪拜，將在迪拜進行為期一周的拉練 。選擇到迪拜集訓 ，是為方便海外球員會合 ，畢竟迪拜是中東地區的交通樞紐，各國都有直飛迪拜的航班 。如果球員選擇赴大馬士革集訓，海外球員需要再飛行兩段旅程 ，因為由迪拜至大馬士革 ，必須經黎巴嫩貝魯特中轉 。
坎約還解釋說， “這次集訓之所以選擇35人，就是考慮到球員實際情況 。屆時，有球員可能出現傷病或因其他意外而無法赴國家隊報到 。”
坎約透露，“主教練馬魯爾已經明確表示 ，由於人員無法到齊 ，再安排熱身賽已經沒有太多現實意義，所以這次敘利亞隊在海外集訓期間將不會再安排任何熱身賽 。”
