“但我認為這不是有關他們三個的事情 ，也不是關於另外四個 ，或者全部首發11人 ，事實上這是關於一整支球隊的事情，這也是索思蓋特所需要進行的工作 。”
“比賽的任何階段 ，都有可能出現受傷換人 、紅黃牌導致換人、戰術換人 ，而任何人都有機會成為那個從替補席走上球場 ，最終決定一切的英雄 。”
“所以 ，選誰首發這些事 ，等等等等 ，這一切都是僅僅為了保障最終的勝利 。對我們而言最重要的是保持積極的心態，落選首發陣容的話感到失望是很自然的事 ，但你要隨時準備好 ，同時也要牢記我們是一個團隊 。”
沃克認為 ，這支英格蘭隊還有一個巨大的優勢存在 ，就是隊中有多個多麵手的存在 ，這會使得他們在排兵布陣上有更多變化的可能 ，曼城後衛自己就是此道高手。
“很明顯，我們的團隊之中有不少可以打很多位置的球員 。我和裏斯-詹姆斯都打過右中衛 ，盧克-肖在曼聯也做到過這一點，特裏皮爾能打左右邊後衛，所以這一切留給索思蓋特去考慮就好 。”
“我們每個人都是很棒的 ，很多人在俱樂部贏得了榮譽 ，我們都是通過一整個賽季的優秀表現才來到了這裏 。所以這對英格蘭足球而言是一件好事 ，對我們的球隊會很有好處 。希望每個人在比賽的某個階段都能發揮出自己的作用 ，最終抵達我們夢想的冠軍寶座。”
