據悉 ，健康进行貝利此次住院並非突發情況 ，亮起而是红灯化疗按照專家的建議 ，進行的球王新一期化療 。旨在有效抑製他體內的贝利癌細胞 。貝利在當地時間1月19日入住巴西聖保羅市愛因斯坦醫院 ，再次進行了全身檢查 ，入院重點是查看他體內癌症的發展情況 ，是否得到了有效控製 ，另外有無擴散的趨勢 。在此前（2021年9月）的檢查中 ，醫生在貝利的腸道、肝髒和肺等身體部位均發現腫瘤，其中肝髒的情況最為棘手 。雖然並未對外正式宣布貝利的檢查情況 ，但貝利在1月20日便在完成化療之後出院。隨後 ，院方稱目前貝利的健康狀況非常穩定 。
