至於兩戰0分的丹麥，出線形勢已經岌岌可危。客觀地說 ，丹麥的紙麵實力遠高於俄羅斯和芬蘭 ，可惜 ，在首輪中發生了埃裏克森心髒驟停事件影響了球員的情緒，意外0-1輸給了芬蘭 ，導致在積分榜上處於全麵被動 。第二輪 ，輸給FIFA排名第一的本屆歐洲杯奪冠大熱門比利時也在情理之中 。最後一輪 ，丹麥必須贏下與俄羅斯的比賽 ，才可能會有一線生機 。
