然而 ，正當人們以為藍軍將依靠這粒點球終結比賽懸念時 ，意想不到的一幕發生了，隻見站在12碼處的若日尼奧右腳一個跳步後推射 ，意大利中場主罰點球時，不但沒有拉開角度 ，就連射門的瞬間也沒有發上力 ，射出的皮球也就綿軟無力 ，法比安斯基一個側撲輕鬆將球化解 。不知道的 ，還以為若日尼奧給法比安斯基一個回傳球呢！若非普利西奇在終場結束前進球幫助藍軍絕殺，這名意大利中場恐怕要被千夫所指了 ！
據統計 ，本賽季截至目前 ，若日尼奧各項賽事先後為切爾西主罰過10次點球，這還是他第一次將球罰失 。值得一提的是 ，這也是他自2020年12月切爾西負於阿森納以來首次在英超罰失點球 。若日尼奧此次點球失手 ，讓人禁不住想起了B費 。曼聯中場本輪早些時候在對陣阿森納的比賽中也曾主罰點球 ，遺憾的是他主罰的點球擊中了門柱，為此他遭到諸多名宿批評 。
眾所周知，若日尼奧向來以他的跳步式罰點球而聞名 。這名意大利中場常常在罰點球時利用小跳步來迷惑對方門將 ，在觀察到對方移動重心之後選擇將皮球往反方向踢去 ，他的這一經典招式曾屢試不爽 。不過，有了今晚重演B費噩夢經曆之後 ，若日尼奧或許要調整自己主罰點球的方式了 ，別忘了意大利無緣卡塔爾世界杯 ，他可是千古罪人呢！
