中國男足廣州賽區的战术國腳於8月18日中午前抵達上海集訓下榻的酒店，盡管人員不整 ，层面但18日下午 ，国足更重李鐵執教的日飞國家隊便正式開練 。昨晚 ，赴多參加8月15日中超聯賽蘇州賽區補賽的哈国球員也陸續抵達上海 。據了解 ，脚直效力於西班牙人的武磊報到日期延遲至8月26日 ，他將直接從西班牙飛赴西亞報到 。
根據目前得到的消息 ，國足12強賽在9月份的前兩場小組賽，客場與澳大利亞隊 、主場與日本隊的比賽基本確定在多哈進行 ，中國足協與澳洲足協已向亞足聯提出相關申請 ，隻待官宣 。而10月份先主後客對陣越南隊和沙特隊的比賽，此前有媒體報道稱 ，大概率也將在西亞舉行，加上11月與阿曼隊及澳大利亞隊的比賽，本期集訓加上比賽的時間有可能長達80天左右。對此 ，國足後衛中堅張琳芃表示 ，“受疫情影響 ，這次12強賽有不少的變化 ，以往的比賽賽製是主客場，這次我們可能會失去自己的主場，當然對手也不在自己的主場 。所以 ，這是一種新的挑戰 ，我們需要做好心理準備 ，這可能比戰術層麵上的東西更重要 。”
