此前歐足聯打算重罰巴薩 、皇馬和尤文 ，但歐洲法院禁止歐足聯這樣做。在歐洲法院看來 ，歐超球隊沒有任何違規舉動，歐足聯因此沒有資格處罰他們 。在這種情況下 ，歐足聯宣布暫停處罰歐超三強 ，並表示正在尋找繼續處罰它們的法律依據 。如果歐洲法院未來仍然認定歐超不違規的話 ，另外9隊就會回歸歐超的懷抱 ，畢竟歐足聯屆時將無權處罰他們 。
歐超究竟何時能夠創立成功 ？《Vozpopuli》認為，歐超將會在2022年或者2023年正式啟動。隻要歐洲法院確認歐足聯無權處罰歐超球隊 ，歐超的重啟就會很快加速 。
