北京時間12月14日淩晨 ，拜仁球星萊萬榮獲了2021年度《都靈體育報》金球獎 。获都萊萬在接受采訪時表示 ，体金团对感謝優秀的球奖評審團對我取得的成就的認可 。
拜仁球星萊萬去年夏天時就與金球獎擦肩而過 ，感谢當時《法國足球》官方宣布 ，评审由於缺乏足夠公平公正的莱万評選條件，2020年的获都金球獎取消 ，這引起了不小的体金团对爭議，而萊萬正是球奖那一年度贏得金球的最大熱門人選 。萊萬在2019-2020賽季表現出色 ，感谢他在47場各項賽事中打進55球助攻10次 ，评审打破了多項個人紀錄 。莱万與此同時，获都萊萬當時還率領拜仁獲得了德甲 、体金团对德國杯和歐冠在內的6大賽事冠軍 ，並且榮獲了國際足聯（FIFA）評選的2020年度最佳球員。
此前有消息稱 ，《法國足球》有補發2020年金球獎的計劃 ，他們打算在12月5日同時頒發2020年和2021年金球獎 ，但這並沒有成真 。最終 ，梅西捧起了2021年度金球獎，萊萬則榮獲了《法國足球》評選的最佳前鋒 。不過 ，由於外界呼聲不斷 ，《法國足球》主編也接受采訪時曾表示 ，會考慮補發2020年度金球獎 。
