首盤小德打得很輕鬆 ，第一局是他的發球局成功保發 ，還破了西西帕斯的一個發球局 ，一度3-1領先 ，在這一盤中 ，小德全部保發成功，6-3拿下 。第二盤雙方纏鬥到搶七 ，小德自身4-1領先的情況下被西西帕斯追平，好在他頂住壓力，連得3分 ，7-6(4)再下一盤 。第三盤一上來西西帕斯就破發 ，小德迅速回破 ，纏鬥到搶七 ，小德碾壓，大比分3-0取得勝利 ，奪得澳網男單冠軍 。
這場比賽結束之後，小德加冕澳網十冠王 ，刷爆紀錄：
澳網十連冠 、史無前例；
澳網28連勝 ，曆史第一人；
個人職業生涯第22個大滿貫，追平納達爾 ，並列第一；
繼2022年6月12日後重返世界第一 ，再次激活自己世界第一累積373周的紀錄；
值得一提的是這場比賽小德是帶傷出戰 ，他的左大腿就一直纏著繃帶 ，此前接受采訪的時候 ，小德就表示不得不通過服藥 、按摩 、包紮繃帶等方法進行應對 ，期間一度停止訓練。就是在這樣的情況下，小德頂住了傷病和對手的衝擊 ，奪得冠軍 。
澳網絕對是屬於小德的 ，除了加冕十冠王之外 ，澳網還是小德夢開始的地方 ，他職業生涯中第一次奪得大滿貫 ，就是在2008年的澳網 。從2008年到2023年 ，小德拿下了10屆澳網男單冠軍 ，是這裏當之無愧的王者，沒有之一。
