《太陽報》指出 ，已告友决據曼聯的知队争內部人士透露，C羅已經告知隊友們 ，定留队盼自己哪兒也不會去 ，下赛除非俱樂部表示不想再留他。曼联而對於曼聯本賽季的表現 ，沒有人比C羅要更失望，但他不想在球隊處在最低穀的時候離開 ，他希望幫助紅魔重返歐冠賽場 ，並在下個賽季為球隊贏下一座冠軍獎杯 。
但《太陽報》同樣表示 ，C羅雖然主觀上想要留下 ，但還需要看新帥滕哈格的態度 。C羅告知隊友，如果新任主帥想要走一條不一樣的道路 ，那麽他也不會感到難過 ，更不會後悔回歸曼聯 。
近日 ，曼聯名宿貝克漢姆也力挺C羅留隊 ，“毫無疑問 ，C羅是過去15年裏的最佳球員之一 ，與梅西一樣 。對於球迷和他本人來說 ，能看到他留在曼聯是很重要的 ，我們知道曼聯對他來說意味著什麽 。在他這個年紀 ，他所做的事情是難以置信的 ，希望他能繼續留在這裏一年或者兩年 。”
