西漢姆聯中場德克蘭-賴斯在歐洲杯前發誓 ，狮铁如果英格蘭能夠最終如願捧杯，夺冠他將喝下他人生中的喝杯喝还会吐第一杯啤酒 ，以此作為“瘋狂”的啤酒慶祝 。
在接受采訪時 ，庆祝賴斯談到 ：“你知道嗎 ？不好直到今天我已經22歲了 ，都沒有喝過一口啤酒 。狮铁是夺冠的 ，我很確定我說的喝杯喝还会吐是實話 。我從來沒喝過一品脫 。啤酒也許人們對我沒有喝過啤酒這件事感到很驚訝 ，庆祝但我隻是不好不喜歡它的味道 ，所以才從來沒有品嚐過 。狮铁”
賴斯表示 ，夺冠如果英格蘭隊在7月11日溫布利球場的喝杯喝还会吐決賽中取得勝利 ，他就會嚐試喝一點啤酒 。他說 ：“是的 ，我會試一試品嚐它，雖然我可能會吐出來 。”
“我很喜歡自己現在的生活狀態 。作為足球運動員 ，我們從來沒有過那樣的生活。如果你想擁有總是在喝酒的生活，你不如選擇做點別的 ，不要做足球運動員 。比賽後恢複狀態對我們來說很重要 。但是如果你在比賽後出去喝一杯，第二天的時間就會被浪費掉。”
賴斯表示：“對我來說 ，喝酒這件事 ，我可以把它留到我職業生涯的終點 ，而不是現在就不顧狀態的喝 。在我年輕的時候，錯過了很多派對 。對14歲的我來講 ，從家鄉搬到西漢姆的時候就是一種“犧牲”了 。在周末的時候出去見朋友，我總會看到他們喝酒的樣子 。我的朋友們出去參加派對 ，還發視頻給當時困在酒店裏的我。但所有的這一切所謂“犧牲”對我來講都是值得的。”
最後，談到英格蘭隊的2018年世界杯之旅 ，當時賴斯正在迪拜度假。他回憶道：“那裏有大量的球迷 ，這一切都太瘋狂了 。我記得我看了很多比賽 ，有巴拿馬 、突尼斯 、瑞典等等等等 。沒有球踢的日子裏 ，我也是足球比賽的忠實粉絲 ，所以現在我能代表英格蘭參加這次的歐洲杯 ，這實在是太好了 。”
