來到下半場 ，盡管曼城多打一人 ，但是不知道是斯特林自己跑位問題 ，還是教練安排。英格蘭人沒有來到自己喜歡的邊路 ，而是一直埋伏在禁區內 ，但是身材較為矮小的斯特林在搶點時絲毫找不到任何便宜 。整個下半場 ，斯特林等於是淹沒在利茲聯高大後衛矗立的禁區內了 。中衛斯通斯的組織 、擺脫和射門都比斯特林更加亮眼 ，而托雷斯的進球則更體現了斯特林和西班牙人之間的差距 。托雷斯的進球和斯特林上半場射得離譜的打門過程幾乎一樣，都是隊友橫傳，然後他們選擇推射 ，而托雷斯還會受到了邊上後衛的壓迫幹擾，但是西班牙人還是攻破了對手球門 。
此役 ，斯特林總共有5腳射門 ，但是有4腳射偏 ，全場比賽更是有16次丟掉了球權，因此賽後的評分斯特林隻有6.6分 。這樣的表現 ，不知道斯特林是否還有勇氣繼續向俱樂部提出更加嚴苛的續約條件 。此外瓜迪奧拉在本場比賽後 ，下周歐冠應該篤定了首發不使用斯特林的念頭 ，畢竟上賽季歐冠麵對裏昂斯特林空門不進的印象還曆曆在目 。
