英國媒體football.london報道 ，熱刺主帥孔蒂回應了外界質疑孫興慜的力挺問題 。孔蒂表示，孙兴赛季自己一點都不擔心孫興慜的担心的问狀態，因為上賽季的有进样凱恩開局也是這樣 。孔蒂強敵高 ，球荒最重要的题凯是球隊贏球，所謂孫興慜進球荒的恩上問題壓根不存在 。

本賽季開賽的不也3場比賽 ，上賽季英超金靴孫興慜腳風不順 ，孔蒂3場比賽沒有進球隻送出一次助攻 。力挺比賽中孫興慜也出現了不少的孙兴赛季失誤 ，在他擅長的担心的问長途奔襲中 ，3個對手也是有进样基本上掐斷了凱恩-孫興慜連線 ，讓韓國天王的球荒機會少之又少 。不過 ，上賽季剛開始的時候，熱刺頭號球星凱恩也經曆了13場1球的低迷，那段時間正是孫興慜扛起了熱刺進攻的大旗 。
被問到是否擔心孫興慜的狀態時 ，孔蒂表示自己一點都不擔心 。孔蒂說 ：“不 ，我看到的是去年11月份來到熱刺時的那個孫興慜。一個有很強責任感很好態度的球員 ，如果我們拿了7分你還在抱怨孫興慜的狀態 。那麽當孫興慜狀態更好的時候 ，我真的認為我們應該做得更好了 。”
“對我來說 ，孫興慜踢得很好 ，他雖然沒有得分 ，但進球總會來的，上賽季開局凱恩不也是這樣 。你可以看到的是 ，現在凱恩進了兩個球了 ，這樣的情況對孫興慜或者其他前鋒也是一樣的 。”孔蒂解釋說 。
孔蒂認為最重要的是球隊贏球 ，雖然個人成就很重要 ，但是球隊俱樂部比任何球員包括教練都重要 。“我不擔心他的情況 ，如果必須要有人擔心 ，那也是教練擔心 。不過我真的不擔心 ，反而操心焦慮的都是你們 。”
“孫興慜發揮很棒 ，他就必須要這麽踢下去 。孫興慜拿到球就有機會進球，這種情況總會慢慢道來的 。但我真的很驚訝 ，我居然能在新聞發布會上談論孫興慜進球的問題 。”孔蒂力挺了孫興慜 。
