北京時間1月11日 ，李霄史上最龐大的鹏详新一屆中國男足在上海浦東的金橋紅楓萬豪酒店集結 ，開始備戰1月27日和2月1日客場與日本隊和越南隊的解备兩場12強賽的比賽 。
本屆中國男足入選球員多達52人之多，战计主力阵容采用了“大國家隊”的划日集訓模式 ，而按照計劃 ，热身球隊出發前往日本之前 ，赛定還將進行一次人員精簡。李霄16日和20日，鹏详中國隊將進行兩場內部熱身賽 ，解备確定出征名單和中日之戰的战计主力阵容首發陣容 。
11日主教練李霄鵬在接受采訪時 ，划日也簡單介紹了兩場熱身賽的热身不同熱身價值 。“16日的赛定是沒有打足協杯決賽的隊員去準備一場熱身賽 ，但這個比賽不會是李霄很完整的 ，因為大家從密集的聯賽中來 ，體能狀態不是很好 。20號的比賽，我想一個隊可能會去模擬日本隊的陣型和主要打法 ，另外一個隊就是應對日本隊這場比賽的主力陣容 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
