北京時間1月29日，知名轉會記者羅馬諾表示 ，英媒邀请英超俱樂部埃弗頓與藍軍名宿蘭帕德已經達成協議 ，兰帕蓝军“神燈”將成為太妃糖新任主帥 。教练英國媒體The 巴里Athletic報道 ，若成為埃弗頓主帥 ，辅佐蘭帕德有意挖角兩名教練 ，自己分別是挖老他帶到切爾西的功勳防守教練安東尼-巴裏 ，以及英格蘭代表隊的东家德或戰術助教的史蒂文-霍蘭德 。
據悉 ，英媒邀请蘭帕德在上周接受了一次麵試 ，兰帕蓝军當地時間本周五接受了第二次麵試 ，教练最終在幾位候選人之中脫穎而出 ，巴里贏得了埃弗頓高層的辅佐青睞 。而此前曾輔佐過蘭帕德的助教喬迪-莫裏斯不太可能與他繼續在埃弗頓合作 ，因此蘭帕德希望挖角藍軍教練巴裏 。另外，The Athletic UK切爾西方麵記者Simon Johnson表示，蘭帕德還有意某些切爾西球員 ，可能會考慮從藍軍買人 。
