西甲聯賽第37輪戰罷 ，埃瓦埃瓦爾客場1-4不敵瓦倫西亞，尔成成為本賽季首支確認降級的西甲球隊。
在聯賽僅剩最後一輪的首支情況下 ，埃瓦爾積30分排名聯賽倒數第一位 ，降级他們身前深陷降級泥潭的队数球隊分別是巴拉多利德（積31分 ，排名第19位）、百中埃爾切（積33分 ，国球股份排名第18位）和韋斯卡（積33分 ，迷拥排名第17位） 。埃瓦由於埃瓦爾與韋斯卡和埃爾切的尔成交鋒中均處於劣勢 ，因勝負關係 ，西甲埃瓦爾即便最後一輪取勝 ，首支排名也不會超過韋斯卡和埃爾切 ，降级提前一輪確定降級 。队数埃瓦爾因此成為了本賽季西甲首支確定降級的球隊 ，而在本賽季最後一輪，埃瓦爾將坐陣主場對陣巴塞羅那。在降級之後 ，埃瓦爾通過官方社交賬號發布動態 ：“夢想結束，但我們很快會回來 ！”
埃瓦爾俱樂部成立於1940年 ，是一家位於巴斯克自治區基普斯誇省埃瓦爾鎮的小球會。自成立至今 ，埃瓦爾大部分時間裏都在西班牙低級別聯賽征戰 。2013-2014賽季，埃瓦爾奪得西乙聯賽冠軍 ，隊史首次闖進西甲聯賽 。自那時起的7個賽季裏 ，埃瓦爾一直在西甲打拚 ，最出色的成績是2017-2018賽季贏得的聯賽第9名 。
球員方麵 ，埃瓦爾也有一些球迷們熟悉的名字 。前西班牙國腳哈維-阿隆索以及大衛-席爾瓦都曾租借效力過埃瓦爾 ，目前埃瓦爾陣中還有兩名日本國腳，他們分別是乾貴士和武藤嘉紀 。
值得一提的是 ，不少中國球迷曾購買了埃瓦爾的股權 。此事要追溯到埃瓦爾升入西甲之前 ，西甲聯賽規定西甲球隊的注冊資金必須達到210萬歐元 ，而埃瓦爾當時隻有42萬歐元的注冊資金 ，為了補缺這168萬歐元 ，俱樂部開放了股權，並以每股50歐元向外出售，每人最多隻能買10萬歐元 。最後，共有近8000位球迷購買了埃瓦爾股權 ，其中有300多人是中國球迷。在俱樂部成績好轉之後 ，埃瓦爾的身價在2019年已經達到了6000萬歐元左右 ，當時50歐元買的股權到2019年已經漲到了6000歐元（約合5萬元人民幣）。
