賽後新聞發布會上 ，望国國足主帥李鐵表示 ：“12強賽沒有一場比賽是回国容易的 。這場比賽對我們來說，李铁如果處理得好一些，运气可能就2比0能夠拿下，今天尽快但在2-0領先的站们足情況下 ，後防線犯了一個錯 ，边希比赛導致比分變成1比2 。望国之後的回国比賽變得比較膠著 ，對手抓住機會後來把比分變成了2比2。李铁在傷停補時階段隊員始終沒有放棄，還在努力尋找得分機會 ，最後一分鍾憑借武磊的進球 ，贏下了比賽 。應該說運氣今天站在我們這邊。感謝隊員的努力，他們始終沒有放棄 。”
對於今天沙迦現場所營造的主場氛圍 ，李鐵表示：“主場氛圍非常好 ，足協陳主席親自帶隊 ，給我們加油鼓勁 ，但怎麽說呢 ，對於我們畢竟不是真正意義上的主場 ，前三場小組賽 ，國家隊已經在西亞踢了兩個主場比賽 ，非常希望能夠盡快回到中國 ，回到真正的主場去進行比賽。”
在被問到最後時刻絕殺對於球隊精神層麵的收獲時 ，李鐵表示：“前80分鍾的比賽過程證明我們是可以踢好足球的 ，在比分被扳成2比2的情況下 ，我們始終沒有放棄 ，最後時刻的絕殺是對球員始終不放棄的一種肯定 。賽後我在更衣室也表揚了隊員的努力，這場勝利對於國家隊很重要 ，也激勵隊員更加努力，打好接下來的比賽 。”
對於球隊在本場比賽中所展現出的體能情況 ，李鐵表示 ：“經過一個月的訓練 ，球員慢慢從疲勞期中恢複 ，不過具體的數據還要賽後再看 。個人感觀賞是比打日本和打澳大利亞的比賽要好很多 。對於12強賽的較量，體能還是最最基礎的東西 ，體能得不到保證 ，很難打好比賽 。”
談到下一場對沙特的比賽 ，李鐵表示 ：“打一場看一場 ，12強賽之前 ，誰能想到日本前三場小組賽隻贏一場，進一球呢 ？其他球隊之間的實力也非常接近 。客場與沙特的比賽肯定不會容易 ，希望球員能夠做好足夠的思想準備 。我們無法去決定對手 ，隻能自己做好各方麵的充分準備 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
