“一直以來 ，我都是以這種怒斥的方式進行訓話 ，但是更衣室中說的話將留在更衣室中 ，我不會告訴別人我說了什麽 。但是我不能說我什麽都沒說，因為這不是真的 。有人說 ，我的話冒犯了一些球員 ，說一些球員對我的訓話感到不滿 ，這是謊言 ，反而是這些背地裏評論我的人冒犯了那些在意丙聯賽踢球的球員們 。有人告訴我佩爾蒂科內非常差 ，但是我認為在意丙踢球需要個性 。球員們告訴我 ，他們喜歡我和他們一起工作的方式，我們之間沒有秘密。我會當麵告訴球員任何事情 ，這樣就可以直接對問題進行交流 。他們不想讓我改變這種方式方法 ，有話直說往往能更快解決問題 。”
羅馬主帥穆裏尼奧談到更衣室訓話問題 ，並炮轟不懷好意的媒體 ，“你們記者認為我是在發泄，但是對我來說 ，這就是我解決問題的方式 。你們認為我在這樣的比賽結束後不應該責怪伊巴涅斯 、卡爾斯多普、曼奇尼或者斯莫林嗎？我是他們的教練 ，他們為此感到開心 。有人說我與球員們之間決裂了 ，這個也完全是個謊言 。我們輸掉了一場比賽，在這場比賽中我們進行了努力 。賽後我們互相交流，分析了問題 ，然後就開始通過努力工作來進行改善 。在我看來 ，這種方式正在發揮其作用 。所以 ，我和球員們之間根本沒有決裂 ，未來的比賽中 ，任何球員都不會被排除在大名單外 。”
目前 ，羅馬24場聯賽戰罷取得12勝3平9負 ，積39分鍾，排在意甲積分榜第七位，這樣的排名很有可能讓紅狼無法拿到參加下賽季歐戰的席位 。需要指出的是 ，羅馬賽季初製定的目標是躋身意甲前四 ，拿到參加下賽季的歐冠資格 ，顯而易見，穆裏尼奧的壓力非常大 ，紅狼當下落後歐冠資格區6分 。
